Chris Spear, President
Chris is the Vice President of Operations at Infusionsoft. He has extensive experience in operational responsibilities including strategic planning, process automation, and team building. He has been at the forefront of architecting and implementing operations platforms with cloud technologies. He has enabled growth and scalability of key processes for sales teams, call centers, retail operations and human resources.
Prior to Infusionsoft, Chris held leadership positions in sales, marketing and program management at Extra Space Storage, IKON Office Solutions, IKON Technology Services and Artisoft. Chris holds an MBA and a BS in Business Management Marketing and International Business from the Brigham Young University.
John Hurley, Past President
John is the Managing Director at Hurley & Associates, LLC and has more than 25 years of leadership experience in program management, project management, change management, strategic planning, market planning, sales, recruiting, process management, budgeting and team leadership. His industry experience includes financial services, insurance, banking, manufacturing, utilities and healthcare.
Merril "Merf" Fratkin, Secretary
Merrill is a senior IT leader for nThrive, a national leader in hospital revenue cycle management. Merrill is leading several integration initiatives related to the recent acquisition, as well as, a number of interdisciplinary teams across the enterprise in strategic platform integration and application architecture. He is responsible for developing IT strategies and roadmaps for new productions and services, technology integration strategies for M&A, driving efficiencies in application development and forging a single team approach to automated business integration.
Merrill has had several other instrumental roles at Adreima while the company grew from 23 employees in 2003 to over 1,000 at the time of the acquisition including HR and Finance director. Merrill was a key participant in the initial sale to a private equity firm in Chicago.
Merrill earned a graduate in Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Phoenix in 2005. His undergraduate degree is in Information Systems from the University of Maryland in Baltimore.
Dan Konzen, Treasurer
Dan Konzen is the Campus Chair, College of Information Systems and Technology and Chair, Scholarship Editorial Board for the University of Phoenix. He is an accomplished visionary leader of innovative solutions with over 25 years of strategic leadership, organizational change, intrapreneurship, and project management with broad experience in all aspects of financial, risk management, knowledge management, and the strategic development, implementation, and application of innovative technology solutions for multiple organizations in both profit and non-profit sectors. Dan has direct experience with strategic corporate governance, application systems andatabase development, content management system development and implementation, customer relationship management applications, enterprise resource planning applications, administrative and financial software implementation, data analytics financial consulting, litigation and claims management, cybersecurity risks, profitable underwriting, course design and development, knowledge and learning management, and faculty mentorship and administration. Dan is a prominent and regular speaker on finance and technology topics in person as well as via radio and television.
During his tenure, he has numerous publications and presentations on finance, leadership, technology, cybersecurity, intrapreneurship, social change, and personal development. He has developed and curriculum mapped numerous graduate and undergraduate finance, accounting, and management courses. He is also Co-founder and Director of Zen Investment Group / Fiesta Lakes and he serves as President Emeritus and Associate Director for Jazz in Arizona and serves as an Advisor on several additional boards. Prior to this he served as board director and chief executive officer for a national identity theft recovery firm, Director of Finance, as Chief Financial and Risk officer (CFO/CRO), and as acting Chief Information and Technology Officer (CIO) of national warranty and administration companies.
He is currently pursuing his PhD in Walden University’s Applied Management & Decision Sciences program with an emphasis in Leadership and Organizational Change. He holds an MBA (Honors) in Finance/Insurance/Risk Management; an MBA (Honors) in Knowledge and Learning Management from Walden University; and a BS (Honors) in Business Management from the University of Phoenix; additionally he holds the designations of Master Project Manager (MPM), Master Financial Planner (MFP), Chartered Risk Analyst (CRA), Certified International Project Manager (CIPM), and Chartered Business Analyst (ChBA), Fellow in the Council on Ethical Billing (FCEB), Fellow in the Global Academy of Finance and Management (FGAFM), and Fellow Claims and Litigation Management (FCLM).
Pamela Smith, Director, Programs
Pamela Smith has 20 years of leadership experience in strategic programs, business administration, operations management, operations planning, process improvement, and workforce planning. Experienced in IT data integration, data governance, infrastructure and process implementation. Her entrepreneurial drive led her to the creation of a technology consulting company where she served as President/CEO for 10 years.
Pamela has a reputation for being a “big picture” strategist, with innovative ideas for creating, implementing, and sustaining corporate growth throughout every sector of the organization. Her focus is to grow, strengthen and evolve business, while mastering change.
Pamela is the IT Project Executive Consultant for UEN - State of Utah. Prior to that she served as the Executive Director of Strategic Business Delivery (IT) for the Arizona Department of Education and has volunteered service with PMI (Project Management Institute) as Past-President 2012, President 2010-2011, President-Elect 2009, VP of Operations, VP of Membership, AVP Membership, Director of Volunteers. She has also served other organizations including NAWBO, NATS, MTSA, AFPHX, March of Dimes, and small start-up companies in volunteer leadership and board of director roles.
Diane Smigel, Director of Membership
Diane Smigel is President and CEO of Palladium IT Advisors, a Scottsdale-based firm specializing in IT Recruiting and Advisory Services for mid-market and enterprise clients in the Southwest. Palladium's core services include Technology Advisory Support for Executives, and Recruiting for IT Leadership roles and hard-to-fill technical positions.
Diane is a well-respected IT and professional services executive with over 30 years of experience serving the strategic technology needs of mid-market and enterprise clients. Prior to launching Palladium IT Advisors, Diane was Vice President, Consulting Operations with MSS Technologies and a Partner with Tatum LLC in the Phoenix office. Previously, Diane served as Regional Vice President of the Northeast and Southwest Regions for Cambridge Technology Partners, a highly acclaimed consulting firm that pioneered the fixed-price, fixed-time project delivery model.
Diane also held senior technology executive roles in the Financial Services and Insurance industries, and was Vice President, Corporate Information Services with John Hancock Financial Services in Boston MA. Diane holds a BA in Mathematics cum laude from Boston University, and resides in Scottsdale Arizona. Diane is a member of the Arizona Technology Council, the Shea Group, and the Society of Information Management.
Cheyne Nelson, Director of Communications
Cheyne is the Director of Operations and Internal Systems at Infusionsoft. He currently leads the Business Intelligence, Internal Development, Internal Systems, Agile Programs, and Sales Operations teams within the company. These teams are responsible for managing, maintaining, administering, and developing the company’s enterprise software stack. He is both Certified Scrum Master and Certified Scrum Product Owner and leads blended Scrum teams which support specific areas of the business. He is an excellent communicator, strategic planner, team builder, and executioner.
Cheyne began working at Infusionsoft in 2008 where he started in a customer service role, helping customers transition data from various applications into Infusionsoft. From there he moved into an Information Systems Analyst role where he became the lone NetSuite admin at the company. He then began to build out a team, which supported with backend operations of the business. Cheyne holds a BS in Management Information Systems from Michigan Technological University.
Mike Glynn, Director of Marketing
Mike Glynn is currently Managing Partner at MSGlynn & Associates in Scottsdale. He has over 30 years of experience and expertise in Managing IT organizations, Outsourcing, IT Services, IT Consulting, and Project Management. Mike has held senior positions such as CIO and CEO while managing IT organizations, and IT Service and Consulting Businesses.
Formerly Mike was a Managing Partner at Transition Partners Co, a national management consultancy recognized by senior executives as trusted advisors to solve strategic problems in information technology. Mike also served as a Managing Director for CSC’s Chicago-based consulting business unit. Prior to CSC, he was the CEO and President of TransTech, a mid-market systems integrator and IT staffing firm, where he developed a strategic vision and led the migration of the company from a staffing-oriented business to a project-oriented systems business; specializing in systems development, eBusiness, enterprise systems, web hosting and infrastructure solutions. Mike spent the bulk of his career at EDS. Mike filled the CIO role and managed the IT organizations for several Component Divisions of General Motors. Additionally, Mike was a Vice President in consulting at A. T. Kearney.
Mike is a member of the Advisory Board for the School of Finance for Kansas State University and a former Board Member for the Society for Information Management (SIM) in Chicago. He received his BS in Computer Science from Kansas State University and holds a MS in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Cat Silverman, Director of Education
Cat is the Senior Manager - Global IT Projects at Avnet. She is a strategic IT business leader and team-builder with over 15 years planning / executing enterprise strategy, leading change and creating value. She is an executive "chief of staff" adviser, leading data-driven decision-making. She is an expert communicator, fostering partnership, collaboration and consensus.
Prior to Avnet Cat held senior manager positions in project management, strategic planning and analysis for ASU, SilverMedia and Qwest Communications. She holds an MSIM from the ASU W.P Carey School of Business. She also holds a BS from North Dakota State University in Liberal Arts & Sciences with a Dual Major in English & Journalism / Broadcast Communications. Her certifications include: PMP, Prosci Certification and CSM Certified ScrumMaster.
Paula Dawson, Director of Engagement
Paula is a Consulting Services Director with MSS Technologies Inc., a leading provider of business transformation solutions focusing on Strategic, Operational, Organizational and Digital Transformation. During her 30-year career at MSS, Paula has effectively lead and successfully managed strategic software selection, assessment, software implementation and organizational change projects for clients throughout Arizona. Her responsibilities include:
- Planning and managing the delivery of MSS’ consulting services to ensure that each project is completed at the highest quality and customer satisfaction
- Staff development and mentoring of MSS’ consulting team members
- Leading and assisting with development of new MSS service offerings
- Providing thought leadership and support to MSS’ sales efforts
Paula holds a Master of Accountancy, Accounting Information Systems from Arizona State University as well as a B.S. in Accounting.
Vishwa Hassan, Director of Sponsorship
Vishwa Hassan is the Director - Enterprise Architecture @ Republic Services where he is responsible for setting Technology Standards and Product Road-maps designed to deliver on business strategy. He is also accountable for improving throughput of IT Projects and identifying Emerging Technologies and their potential application towards Business Innovation and improved Customer Experience.
Vishwa has over 20+ years of experience during which he has held various technical and managerial positions in leading enterprises including Hughes and Motorola. Prior to joining Republic Services, Vishwa was focused on accelerating Intel’s competitive advantage through Exploratory/Applied Research, Innovation and Pathfinding in partnership across IT, Intel and External Organizations.
He has Nine Patents to his credit and was awarded “IT Leader of the Year – 2013” by the Society of Information Management, Arizona Chapter. Vishwa received his Master’s degree specializing in Reliability Engineering from the Université d'Ottawa, Canada.
Deborah Decorrevant, Advisor to the Board of Directors
Deborah is an IT Business Relationship Manager at Salt River Project, a local power and water delivery utility. She is a highly engaged and collaborative IT professional with over 25 years of leadership experience. Her diverse skill set includes IT strategic planning and roadmap development, business relationship management, cross-functional team leadership, IT governance and business intelligence architecture. Prior to joining SRP, Deborah was the Senior Director of Enterprise Data Management at Choice Hotels International, creating strong collaboration with business areas to provide strategic solutions for their diverse information needs.
Michael Sperling, Advisor to Board of Directors
Michael’s experience in the IT industry spans over 50 years having held several management positions with companies such as AT&T, First Interstate Bank and the City of Phoenix.
He led the development of Tax and License system, the Economic Development Information systems among several other important initiatives for the city of Phoenix. He was the founder and chairman of the Arizona Millennium Group which was the first networking group worldwide for Y2K project managers.
Michael has been a member of SIM since 1984 and a former President and Treasurer of the Arizona chapter. He has also served as Director of STEM Outreach and on other committees.
